The Rules of the Roulette
In brief, the rules of the game are as follows. For playing they use a playing wheel with 37 (or 38) cells and a small ball. The ball made from ivory rolls around the wheel of the roulette, falls down suffering many reflections from the walls of the cells and stands motionless in one of the holes. This cell wins, and the player who has made the bet on the number corresponding to the hole gets the winning. Each participant plays against the casino, regardless of the other players’ participation and bets. The winnings are paid depending on the type of the bet made. For the players’ convenience, there is usually a high display at the gaming table showing the results of the last 10-20 spins.
There are two types of the wheel of the Roulette – the American wheel and the European wheel. In the European variant, there are 36 cells of numbers plus zero on the wheel. In the American variant, there are 36 cells plus zero plus double zero. Apparently, playing the European Roulette is twice profitable, as there is only one zero, and providing it occurs all the bets lose. Besides, there are two more additional rules that raise the chances of the player. The game with such rules is usually called the French Roulette.
~ The rule La Partage: the bets of the player on Even Chances lose only half providing that zero has occurred.
~ The rule En Plein: when zero occurs, the bets of the player do not lose, however, they remain on the playing field till the next spin (the player cannot remove them). If the bet wins, it is paid by the understated coefficient.
